Answers from the Article.

1. 1. The World Bank is one of the United Nations agencies that made up of 184 members and its job is to help people get out of poverty.

2. 2. It is important to collect data from 73 countries to get different points in other people’s perspective and also to understand the disparity, the gap between the rich and the poor.

3. 3. Poverty is when a person does not have enough of the basic needs like water, food and shelter. Poverty also takes away hope because people living in poverty would think of surviving on each day and can’t think about their future.

4. 4. The difference between poverty and extreme poverty is that poverty is having unsatisfied needs and extreme poverty is not having enough income to meet the most basic needs. Extreme poverty can go up to the highest point to the state of powerlessness.

5. 55. A poverty trap is when a family of 3 generations has been living in poverty and can’t get out of poverty.

6. 6.The World Bank defines extreme poverty as not having enough income to meet the most basic human needs for adequate food, water, shelter, clothing, sanitation, health care or education.

8. 8.. Over the last 20 years, people living in extreme poverty was about 4 in every 10 people but now there’s fewer than 1 in 4 living I extreme poverty.

9. 9.Kiva and lots of other organizations that helps people living in poverty. Many people start to stand up, participate and help the people living in poverty so there’s many improvements are made.

10. 10. In Jakarta, sometimes when I walk on the streets, I would see people sleeping on the floor on cardboard or children that comes to me, begging for money. It made me feel grateful that I have enough and sad that they don’t have enough to live.
